Is the intel core i5 2.9 ghz processor in the macbook pro 13' 2015 just an overclocked 2.7 ghz i5 base model processor?

I'm getting a Macbook Pro 2015 13 inch in a few weeks. I'm interested in getting the slightly faster 2.9 ghz intel core i5 processor. Is this a completely different model? Or is it just the same processor as in the base model, but slightly overclocked to be a bit faster? Would you recommend the upgrade?

Thanks! Seb

It's not overclocked. All Intel CPUs have a range of recommended clock rates. Overclocking involves increasing the clock rate beyond the Turbo limit. The chips are not "overclocked" in that sense, and the computer is not at risk. Apple does not provide any means for overclocking the CPUs or GPUs.

Overclocking can cause damage if the CPU is run at an extremely high clock rate without proper cooling. Notebook computers in general lack the size that would be needed to cool them sufficiently to overclock them well past recommended limits.
