Q: Does it not buying a track individually on Itunes cost more vs buying all the tracks at once?

I'm new to Itunes. Buying one track at a time is not my thing. That means I could get additional charges each time I get charged for one track at a time. Why did Itunes remove "Add to cart" and then buy all the tracks selected?  Are they trying to push Album purchases only? Come on Itunes, stop being a dinosaur.

You need to be a bit more specific about what you are asking. You can purchase individual tracks from albums, unless the distributor of the album has prohibited it (sometimes you will see songs with Album Only). Other than that, not sure what the issue you are experiencing is. BTW - Apple/iTunes does not make the decision about how music is "packaged"....

Yes the artist album that I am looking at only lets single purchase. Thank you for clearing that up! I thought it was Itunes's doing, sorry Itunes. :O So does that mean .99 cent per track =s extra total? I have not bought a single track yet.

TThere's no service or shipping/handling charge, if that's what you mean. In that sense it doesn't matter if you buy a bunch of tracks all at the same time, or whenever the fancy strikes you.

Some albums do cost less when purchased as an album, rather than if you bought eack track on the album separately. The information for making the comparison is right there in iTunes.

Same back 40 years ago when you keep buying the 45's (yeah I Know! Like single tracks with a B side!) but eventually, if all tracks were released on single, the total was more than the Album they were all on. Things haven't changed much.

Oh, yeah! I think I still have those round black plastic disks somewhere down in the basement.
