Apple X11

I just downloaded OpenOffice OK and now I get a message: OpenOffice cannot be started because X11 is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first.
Can anyone tell me what to do.
After asking on a Forum I eventually did find X11 on the instalation disk1 and installed restarted and still get the same massage???

This is not an aswer to your question.

But,
why don't you get NeoOffice

http://www.neooffice.org/

It does not need X11 and it's more "Aqua" integrated 😉

When you installed did you do a custom install with X-11 clicked on? If not it won't install it.

And I believe you can simply insert the disk, double-click on it and install individual items without doing an entire re-install of the system.

Been a while since I looked at it so I don't remember the format exactly but look around inside the DVD without starting up off of it.

But as Alberto said try NeoOffice, you don't need X11 for that.
