I have lost all the photos off my photo stream after upgrading to iOS 8.3

After upgrading to iOS 8.3 on my iPad all the 1000+ photos on my photo stream have disappeared. I can still see the photos which I have shared with others, but the photo stream has gone.

New photos which I added to iCloud on the Mac have not appeared on the iPad but they do appear on my iPhone. I really don't know what is going on, but I want to be able to view my pictures on the iPad but all I have on the iPad are the few crappy pics Ive taken on the iPad and the files which Ive shared in iCloud.

UPDATE. Ive managed to get My PhotoStream back on my iPad but its empty. How can I get my pictures back and make sure photos I add to iCloud appear on my iPad?
