Dynamically populating cover flow?

I'm interested in using the cover flow to show photos that have been "uncovered" using other buttons on the page. Is there a way to add images dynamically to the cover flow? Ideally, I'd like the cover flow to be empty until a button is pressed, where it adds a specific image. However, if images in the cover flow can be marked "hidden" until a button is pushed, that would work too. Thanks!
