Q: how can a put part of my aperture photo library into the cloud?

To transfer a few photos in Aperture library to my Iphone, I would like to put a few pictures chosen from that library into the cloud, so I can pull them up on my Iphone. Is there any way to put just a portion of your photo library into the cloud, My total library is too large--and expensive--for the cloud.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), iOS 8.3

Are you using MacOS X 10.10.3?

In Aperture: Create a folder with albums you want to sync to iCloud and export that folder as a new Aperture library.
File > Export > Folder as new Library.

Then drag this exported library onto the Photos icon and let Photos migrate the library as a new Photos Library.
Enable the new library as the System Photos Library and enable iCloud Photos Library for this library.
Then wait and let it sync.
