my daughter has an ipod4, and im trying to update but its not very easy, help? I've gone through tech help and its not coming up with what its saying

If you are trying to update an iPod touch (4th generation) the farthest it can go would be iOS 6.1.6, so it looks as though you are as updated as you can be. See this article for reference -

- iPhone 4 and later
- iPad 2 and later
- iPad mini
- iPod touch (5th generation)
