Q: Safari seems unresponsive, window not visible until I minimize and maximize window

For a long time since the latest operating system update (10.10.2) on both my work Macbook air (mid 2012 I think) and home macbook pro (late 2011 15 inch)

whenever I open safari I don't get a window.

It feels completely un-responsive. and I think seems similar to other requests that safari is not responding.

All you can see if the top menu bar, but nothing happens

After trying all buttons I learned that if you minimize the window, you will see a flash of the window and then the minimization animation,

and then when you maximize to bring it back everything is OK for as long as safari is open, once you quit it you will have to do the same thing on re-opening it again.

I seem to remember (but am not 100% sure) that this being fixed in 10.10.1 but then came back in 10.10.2.

Whilst the work around is fine, I am getting a annoyed to have to do this, and if you don't know the trick then Safari seems completely broken,

even though it is just a windowing bug.

I do have one password and AdBlock installed - and god knows what else I am not aware of.

Questions:

1. Am I the only person with this?

2. Any suggestions to try and fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help
