What hardware is your apple server? For example is it an Xserve? MacPro etc?

Thank you for your reply,...
Actually it is XServ. It was working properly. When I try to insert another hard disk by removing it, the new one is not detecting. Then I try with the original hard disk, this one also not working....
Simply unlocking the Xserve will 'cure' your problem. Locking it prevents any externally attached device, even a keyboard and/or mouse, from being detected if its locked. If the Xserve is in a locked cabinet, or a cabinet that's in a locked room with limited access, then there's no need to lock it. If it's on a desk or table with easy access to all and sundry then do lock it after unlocking it. Although anyone with a number 9 Allen key can easily unlock it if you don't happen to be keeping an eye on it.
