It seems that every time I try to use Safari, or Chrome my MacBook Air is slowed up by these new engines, or whatever they are ( MYWAY, AND TROVI ). What are they and how do I get rid of them? Are they MALWARE, OR WHAT ?

This is adware. You need to use Adwaremedic. It is a tiny tool, which will remove the adware within several seconds. You can download Adwaremedic from this website: http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
