Q: i want music from my PC without deleting whats on my ipad

I have a new iPad Air 2 and I have synced it to my MacBook, I have some of my music on my iPad but the remainder is on my PC, when I try to get the music from the PC it wants to delete the synced tunes from the MacBook. How can I overcome this and get my music on my iPad from both PC and MacBook ?

    The iPad only syncs to one iTunes library/computer at a time. YOu need to consolidate that music onto one computer and use that to sync the music onto your iPad

    This is very helpful, but it raises a new question, I know where the consolidate button is but how does it work? Do I consolidate each computer in turn ?

    In this instance, consolidate means to put all of the music into one iTunes library on one computer.

     

    I Believe that you can use two different computers and this will still work.

    Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support

     

    Make sure that you turn off automatic syncing before you do anything. Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. You do this without connecting your iPad. After auto sync is disabled, then connect the iPad and follow the steps in the article about dragfing the songs to the iPad.

     

    DO NOT sync the iPad, just drag the songs that you want to put onto the iPad.
