Hi, I recently have transferred 400 photos from my iPod to my "photos" library on my Mac. I tried exporting those photos to an external hard drive. However, it keeps showing me that it's not able to. I am not sure how to successfully export my photos on to the hard drive. If anyone knows what's wrong, could you help me? Thanks, it's much appreciated. 🙂

What format is the external drive? If it is formatted for Windows (NTFS) your Mac can not write to it. Reformat the drive as either exFAT or Mac format.

It says it's formatted for both Windows AND Mac. I previously transferred photos from my Windows laptop to it. But I read that if I reformat the hard drive, I will lose all the information on it. If I back up the existing photos(on the drive) onto my Mac, reformat it and then transfer it back, will it work? Thanks for the reply.
Have you managed to transfer other photos from that Mac onto that specific external hard drive with no problems before?
If not already done, I would recommend dragging the files that haven't worked from Photos onto your desktop, then try it that way (don't worry, the files stay in Photos).
To answer your question, no, I have not used this hard drive with the Mac before. I tried dragging the photos, but the external hard drive will not let me write on it 😟 Thanks for the reply btw.
