May 18, 2015 12:17 PM in response to AnimeLover24by kncshelton,How is the new partition formatted. Microsoft only works in FAT32 format and can't talk to Macs other formats. I found this out when I restored and partitioned my older mac. This may be obvious to you already but I thought I would mention it.

2. You can replace the internal Optical drive, because your Mac with a built-in Optical drive, neither will allow a USB to be created, not will allow an external Optical drive to be used. There a couple of 2011 and 2012 models which will let you use either USB or DVD.
3. You can try http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=20584499#post20584499 .
