I cannot capture from my Sony HVR V1 using FCP7

I have a Sony HVR V1 camera. Recently, I find that I am unable to capture footage directly from the camera via FCP7. Everything seems to be fine, the footage plays in the 'log and capture' window but the problem starts when I click on the 'capture now' button. it starts capturing but then the message 'searching for media' appears and capture stops.

Originally I thought the problem might be to do with my MBP but I set up a mac mini and am experiencing the same problem. It captured OK the on the first test run but now the same message 'searching for media' appears. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Below are the audio / visual settings I use. Any geniuses out there who can help me sort this out before I go mad? Thanks very much. jacks
