Q: can't restore iPhone, stuck on apple logo...
I have a iPhone 4 and was working fine until today, it suddenly switched itself off and I can't turn on unless plugged in to a computer or charger.
It will stay stuck on the apple logo no matter what, and switch itself off after a few seconds.
It is currently in DFU mode and I have tried restoring my iPhone on itunes, when it gets to "Preparing iPhone for restoring" the iPhone switches off instantly and I get the error "the iphone could not be restored...(2001)"
I've tried this 4 times and it always happens.
The iPhone switches off immediately when un plugged....
What should I do, what could be the problem? Should I take to repair??
iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

Hello Mari1996x,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue turning on your iPhone 4, and you’re also seeing a ‘2001’ alert when attempting to restore the device with iTunes. The article linked below provides information and troubleshooting tips that will resolve most issues like the issues that you’ve described.
Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support
Check your USB connections
Errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014. You might also see a message that includes "invalid response."
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:
- Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
- Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
- Try a different computer.
- Solve other issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.
Take care,
-Jason
