Hi,
I have Macbook Pro running on 10.6.8. I downloaded yosemite OS installable from app store. Installation goes fine. But after restart, it does not continue with further installation of yosemite and goes back to 10.6.8. There is no error message and system runs fine on 10.6.8. Any help on this will be highly appreciatd. Thank you.

Is the installer, Install OS X Yosemite, still in your Applications folder? If so, I would duplicate it and move the copy out of the Applications folder so you won't have to download it again. Then try booting into the Safe Mode and run the installer in the Applications folder again.
