You cannot install any Intel-based version of OS X on a PPC computer. Your computer cannot boot from the Snow Leopard DVD that you have purchased.
This forum is for pre-2006 iMacs that cannot run any higher Mac OSX version than 10.5.8. If you included your current iMac OSX version and iMac variant, you can get better help.
I Accidently erased EVERYTHING. and did not back up anything. i just bought an apple os x installment disc. but everytime i try to use the disk it automatically take me to dawrin kernel panic and all im trying to do is get my computer started back up
