MacBook Pro mid 2012 OS X 10.10.3 long start up

MacBook Pro mid 2012 2.5 GHz Turbo 3.1 GHz Intel dual core i5, 4GB RAM, 500 HDD, OS X 10.10.3 long start up, the progress bar seems to stop at around 1/3 of the way for at least 30 seconds then continues quickly to the end. It takes a full minute for my mac to start up. I have a windows 8 partition but that didn't affect the start up time on mountain lion. I have reset PRAM and verified the disk to no avail. Please help!
