Ok - rather than ThreadJacking start a new threat with your specifics and your exact question

Jul 4, 2015 7:48 AM in response to dgfromcpkby Txiki,Hello,
it´s a complete rubbish, slow, clumsy, and the worst thing is that it makes the rest go slow too. And I don´t seem to find a way to go back to iPhoto... which wasn´t precisely the definition of perfection, but at least it was useable.

Photo was not deleted from your hard drive, only removed from the Dock. If you have iPhoto 9.6.1 you can still use your iPhoto library. If you don't have that version but some earlier version of 9.x try following Terence Devlin's instructions in this post to obtain iPhoto 9.6.1 from the App Store:

Re: Is Iphoto gone ? i want it back!
Recommended
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash.
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

I deleted iPhoto after installing Photos. Silly me. But I´ll try what you say. Thanks!!!

Jul 14, 2015 2:51 AM in response to dgfromcpkby miguel_forum,i am on the market looking for alternative, meanwhile i have no library management App, i just have the photos in folders organized (1000 x better than App Photos). the Aperture i still use it but his speed is not for 70000 photos library management, it is great for photos editing and while Apple does not discountinued it, i will keep going with it, iPhoto is dead after 10.10.4.
suggestions for alternatives for photos management library are welcome

See my post on the first page of this topic. IMO it's the most powerful DAM (digital asset management) app out there but only has very rudimentary editing features. With a powerful editor like Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity Photos it is hard to beat.

Jul 19, 2015 7:18 AM in response to dgfromcpkby miguel_forum,i got back to iPhoto, it is still available in the Purchases Tab, i lost about 3 hours to re-build manualy my library but it is the way for those you wants the iPhoto Library versatile, flexibility, compreensibility, in few words EASY TO MANAGE YOUR PHOTOS
to edit i keep the Aperture, lets see until when, i don't use it for library because kind of ***** with his speed when the library is 65GB.
The longevity for iPhoto is known, no more updates, but it will work until Apple don't change the hardware architecture. i am still using for my web pages iWeb, works perfectly as i need and as i want.
for the Photos App, i will try new versions, BUT NEVER DELETE MY OLDER IPHOTO LIBRARIES, just do some beta testing library to test it and if one day Apple come over with a reasonable version, then change it.

Jul 19, 2015 12:11 PM in response to Old Toadby mmschiff,Thank you for the Feedback link. I did submit my feedback - really miss Events being created when importing new photos. Your simulated Events suggestion is helpful and is the best option I've heard of so far!

Jul 19, 2015 3:48 PM in response to LarryHNby Dulany Lingo,I agree with 'Foremost Authority' 100%, but don't care for the way he said it either. I do feel like a prisoner of Apple though and wonder why I can't trash an app. that I don't care for. Photoshop has also become a complete bully and I'm wishing that hadn't happened either. Why is the ascendancy necessary? Is it true that money makes the world go round? I may not be able to continue in the game, as I will soon be in my 80s.

Jul 19, 2015 4:50 PM in response to Dulany Lingoby pjbuk007,I agree, it all seems very odd. And I am only posting reluctantly because I am yet another person for whom Photos has been a debacle. Reluctantly because so many people who kindly respond to posts are downright unpleasant. They should remember that Apple is only the megacorp it is because loads of us undermenschen buy their products but do not have the time and energy, nor, in some cases, the ability, to get into the minutiae of everything. I first use an apple macintosh in 1981, and have run several networks of the things in the dim and distant, when the OS was indeed intuitive. The latest crapwear rivals windows (had to use them for decades for work) imho in being unintuitive and opaque.
I imported my iPhoto library to Photos, but the albums do not all exist any more. The pics no longer sort by date, and I am at a loss to understand why nomenclature was changed, it is less obvious than before; moments, events, whatever.
I take pics of documents and artefacts on my iPad mini, and want them to be on my MBP (used when travelling for 5/12 a year) AND my iMac (when I am at home). This used to happen seamlessly. Now I have no idea which photos are where. A file path would be nice, as the iMac is the ultimate repository.
Then tonight I spent an hour trying to get a second pic to upload to Facebook. What? Is? Going? On? It is there in Photos but disappears when I try to get at it from FB. All this used to be easy, and I have told Apple.
But am exasperated beyond belief. Hence posting on this thread. Just remember, snotty experts, if we gits had not bought Apple products for decades, you would not have it now.
