Compatibility Issue - Apple IOS 8.3

The iOS8.3 update broke the use of external GPS bluetooth receivers. The problem is in iOS 8.3 not the Bluetooth devices. GPS data can be seen by iOS but it is not passed on to the apps on the iPad or iPhone. This defect affects many navigation programs used by pilots and by sailors. Does anyone have any more info? I am tracking info from Bad Elf and from Firelight but they both say they are waiting on Apple and they cannot even disclose Beta fixes on 8.4 betas due to ND agreement.

Back to sectional chart and pencil: The progress nowadays is really overwhelming. The FAA check pilot was absolutely right demanding navigation the "good 70 year old way" My demand for electronic gadgets in my plane is absolutely more than satisfied, specially from Apple, using them since 1983, experiencing over and over again a DOWNWARD INCOMPATABILITY.
