Maybe screen isn't working?

I dropped my ipod 5th gen in the pool. We believed it have stopped working. (this was last wednesday) we put it in rice, the whole deal. Now, when we plug it in, it gets quite hot. I plugged it into the computer to see if it registered, and to recover pictures. The computer registered it, and i got the pictures off. I hear notification sounds coming from my iPod, and when I held down the power button and the home, the computer stopped recognizing it. Maybe the screen isn't working? What can I do? Thank you!

Dry the iPod in a sealed container with uncooked rice for a week and periodically change the rice.

Then try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
