New iPod Touch stops playing through Sony Home Theater System dock

When docked with my home theater system (Sony), the iPod Touch plays for about a minute or two and then the iPod goes into pause mode. When I press "play" the iPod plays, but through its own speakers, not the docked home theater system. The iPod is in good working order. I reset and then completely erased the iPod with no joy. The Sony home theater system is also working just fine. Why does my iPod Touch stop playing?

Thanks, Illaas. It works sometimes for a minute or so and the iPod goes into pause mode. When I press play, it plays, but only through the iPod's speakers - not the home theater system. Yes, I checked each connection pin. Nothing broken or bent. I did a reset on the iPod. Still no joy. I did a complete reset (erase the iPod) and then restore. Same result. Sony has nothing useful to say. I've perused through their web sites and spent hours on the phone. I also rebooted my home theater system. Incompatibility between the iPod and the Sony dock comes to mind. But then why would it play perfectly through the Sony for several months and then suddenly stop?
