Fail to charge and connect my iphone6 to macbook air using usb cable

I used to sync my iphone6 with my macbook air using USB cable.

However, recently i found that my iphone fails to connect with my air.

It keeps flashing - 'charging' and not charging. And certainly, i couldnt do sync too.

How can i solve this problem?

Have you tried a different port, a different USB cable on the Mac?

Also, try restarting the mac with the iPhone connected.

I tried all ports and i tired to restart my macbook too. All failed.

(given that i used the same usb cable to do sync previously)
