Q: i can't delete videos from iPad

I'm trying to clear up space on my iPad.  I deleted two movies from Amazon Instant Video.  I can't see in iTunes that I have any iTunes movies installed on the iPad, but they bar at the bottom indicates that over 7GB of space is devoted to movies.  How do I find out what these videos are, and how do I get rid of them?

    Hello Bottlerocket,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you see 7GB of used storage on your iPad, but do not see any movies in the Videos application. To begin the troubleshooting process, I would recommend reading over the attached article to see what stored content shows as Video. I suggest looking for music videos and TV shows as well; both can be seen in the Videos application.

See how much storage you've used on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

View storage usage for your iOS device in iTunes

When you connect your device and select it in iTunes, you'll see your usage by content type:

    • Audio: Songs, audio podcasts, audiobooks, voice memos, and ringtones
    • Video: Movies, music videos, and TV shows
    • Photos: Camera Roll contents, Photo Stream, and Photo Library
    • Apps: Installed apps
    • Books: iBooks books and PDF files
    • Documents & Data: App content such as contacts, calendars, messages, emails, and their attachments, Safari Offline Reading List, and files that you've created in your apps
    • Other: Settings, Siri voices, and other system data

Hover your mouse over the content type for more information about usage.

iTunes displays how much space the selected songs, videos, audiobooks, and apps use in the status bar on the bottom of the screen. You can also see this information by selecting an item and then choosing File > Get Info. The size is available in the Summary tab.

You can transfer or sync content to your computer from your device. If you want to remove certain types of content from your device, learn how to manually manage content using iTunes.

    Have a great day,

    Joe

    1. Tap Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage to see the amount of space each app and its content takes on your device. (Tap an app for more detailed information about its usage.)

    2. Tap on the Video icon, and you'll see the videos and TV Shows you have on your device along with the size of each video, giving valuable information as to which video to delete, if you need more storage. To delete, tap the Edit button in the upper right, then the little circle-minus button next to the video you’d like to delete. This will trigger the red Delete button . Tap it to fully erase that video from your iPhone.

warning:  Before deletion, you can export these videos to your computer to backup them first.

Thanks for the help.  When I do that, there is no option to choose videos.  I can check the amount of space used for music, photos, and apps, but there is no option to chose videos.

THanks, but I've done these steps over and over, thinking I missed something.   I can't see anything I missed.

I Have a similar problem.  I have six (6) movies listed  my iPad's Videos app. All have a cloud symbol in the lower right corner of their icon. I can play or download them. No amount of swiping or selecting and holding produces any kids no of edit or delete capabilities. They are not taking storage so much as cluttering my list of videos. I'm guessing that Apple requires these to be managed via the Mac even though I bought them on my iPad- but so far I have not been able to remove any for over a year
