Mavericks upgrade and iphoto

I lost my iPhoto after Mavericks upgrade last year on my MacBook Pro. I am still running 10.9.5. I am only now trying to get iPhoto working again. I cannot find what version iPhoto it is but the last update according to my applications folder was September 2012.

When I go to the App store there is nothing about iPhoto in updates or purchased section. I can't even purchase iPhoto '11...it doesn't come up in the search results. When I go to the Apple support downloads the latest version I can download is 9.4.3.

Should I upgrade to Yosemite & see if that sorts the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
