2012 MacMini 10.10 falling asleep

Hey guys,

I have a 2012 MacMini with an i7 and 16GB of ram. I actually do a lot of testing on VM's using VMWARE Fusion, My problem is it falls asleep, regardless of my settings in System Preferences and "Energy Saver". I have it set to 'never' sleep. The problem is when I am remote the MacMini goes to sleep and it shouldn't, and therefore all my VM's are down and I cannot work remotely because I can't access the MacMini.

This seems to be a 10.10 Yosemite issue as it's never been a problem before this OS. I also tried a SMC reset and have all of the latest updates. The weird thing is it only happens ~8-10 days after a reboot, so if I reboot weekly for example, I'll never see the issue.

The console logs don't show anything useful that would indicate why this is happening. Any ideas since "energy saver" is set to never and already tried an SMC reset?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data. The instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

sudo pmset -g log | sed -E '/Assert|UU/d' | tail -n 50 | pbcopy

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to post the warning.

If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.

Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.

The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.

The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

Hey Linc,

Yep, you did. Sorry about that, I was remote and was trying to get the information for you faster and missed the last line.

I have a Mini that sleeps too. (Late 2012, OS X 10.9.5, 2.6GHz i7, 4G RAM)

Even though we have all settings to stay awake forever.

I reset control panel to defaults and back again, still sleeps

I installed the Caffeine app. Still sleeps.

Updated OS to last Mavericks. Still sleeps. (I haven't done Yosemite (10.10) upgrade, but I don't think it will mater?)

Linc Davis,

I saw your sudo command suggestion. Here is my results...

Can you help interpret? Thank you kindly in advance.
