Your MBP has only 120 GB storage. If your Grandmother thought it was equipped with a 256 GB SSD, she was mistaken or given the wrong MBP.
Ciao.
so apple could have given me a wrong MBP?
What does the sales receipt say? (It was my impression that your grandmother purchased the MBP)
Ciao.
If you got the base model, then it only came with a 128 GB flash storage. Your screenshots show what should be the volume (top entry) as Macintosh HD - the second indented entry is your hard drive. My top entry is the logical volume group and then I have two partitions, each of which is 120 GB because I purchased a 240 GB SSD.
my grandma probably has the receipt
it doesnt say MBP 10.10 ON ME
No, it wouldn't say that because I named it. The name is not important - what is important is that the top entry is NOT a separate or second hard drive.
but she ordered it online tough
There is no question that you have a MBP with 120 GB storage. What you have to do is find out the price of the MBP's with 120 GB storage and 256 GB storage and compare that to what your Grandmother paid. If there is a discrepancy, then you will have to contact Apple directly and resolve the problem with them.
If it was purchased directly from Apple, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to return the MBP for an exchange or a refund.
Ciao.
i have had the MBP for some months now
You have a 120GB flash drive, not a 256.
ok ):

I understand. Then you have to determine the price difference between the two models and compare that to the original sales receipt.
Ciao.
