It isn't a virus; there are no viruses that can infect an iPhone. It is a cookie or other bit of garbage left behind by a site you visited. Put the phone in Airplane mode. Then go to Settings/Safari and tap Clear History and Website Data. While there also turn on Fraudulent Website Warning, Do Not Track and Block Popups. Tap Block Cookies and check Allow from current website only. Tap Advanced turn off JavaScript. Exit from Settings. Now Open Safari and close all pages. Turn off Airplane mode and verify that the problem is corrected. If it is you can turn JavaScript back on.

There are no viruses for unjailbroken iPhones. Wirelurker first of all is NOT a virus. While it IS malware, it does not propagate from device to device over a network, which is the definition of a virus. It also only affects devices that have Enterprise Provisioning profiles, which are installed by corporate IT departments to allow deployment of custom enterprise applications rather than through the iTunes App Store. What it does is masquerade as an enterprise application to allow installation of replacements for commonly used apps, such as Gmail. And it was blocked within weeks of its discovery.

It's also irrelevant to the subject of this thread.

EDIT:

Nearly forgot. It can only be installed over a USB connection from a computer that was previously infected.
