Problems with update 1.01.1

This is hard to explain. But since I updated my watch yesterday the display in glances and notifications etc is weird. There is a glow in the background. The glow matches the fields of my particular watch complication. So in the NY Times glance , for instance, it should be a black background with the lettering in white( and some blue). I have greenish blobs , kind of translucent, underneath the lettering. It matches the places where my things on my watch face are( like the square for activities; or the date ; or where stocks are. I switched to the huge watch complication with just the time in blue( I had been in modular before). Then when I went to glances the same thing. You see a blueish cast right where the time should be.

I called apple support last night. The guy didn't know much. In fact he didn't even know how to tell me how to do a screen capture until several tries and he had to go offline to find out. He said he would talk to engineers and get back to me the next day, which he did. But he had no answers. Said he spoke to other people there who had the watch and said it was there too and this was just something the engineers did. Not a good reply. I said I wanted it back to the way it was before the update and he said he would explore further with the engineers.

I guess I need to call again and get more of an expert

Hi barefootgranny,

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your new Apple Watch. Based on your description of what you are seeing, it sounds like you might be describing the transparancy effect (seeing a slight image or color of the menu or window behind the one at the forefront). If this is the case, you should be able to turn down this effect from the Accessibility settings, as noted in the following article:

Reduce Transparency

You can increase contrast on the screen by reducing the transparency of the background behind elements such as alerts, Siri, and Glances.
