iPhone 5s restore unknown error (-1)

When I try to update or restore my iPhone 5s, I get an unknown error (-1) about half-way through the update/restore. My iTunes and PC are updated, and I have nothing plugged into my USBs.

Before I tried updating with iTunes, I received the same error message when I tried to complete the update through the settings of my phone.
