iPod Shuffle Green, Orange light and the Jam

Hello,

I have a Green iPOD Shuffle that was working brilliantly for about two years. A month ago I put it into the same pocket of my bag as some throat lozenges and they sweets melted because of the heat. Some of the sticky stufff got on my iPOD. The front face keys and the back clip got sticky and it was a difficult to press them before. Now it's okay.

The battery also appears fine, I was able to connect it to the computer, its recognized and I can upload songs.

BUT, when I press play.

1. Green Light blinks

2. Orange light appears and stays lit for 3 seconds.

3. iPOD shuts down.

4.I press play again, Green light appears for 2 seconds.

5. Things return to normal

I cant listen to anything. Can anyone help me?
