How do you reset an ipod classic 4th or 5th generation when you forgot your ipod password?
iPod classic, white
Restore using iTunes. All content on the device will be erased. It may be possible to put the device in disk mode and recover content with the manual process described here: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer. I say may because I don't have a working classic to hand to test it with. It may also be that you cannot connect to the device's file system, even in disk mode, without unlocking the device.
