I've moved interstate in Australia recently. On setting up Apple TV in the new location I see that YouTube has disappeared from the list of available icons - it was there a month ago so don't understand what has happened in that short space of time.
My Apple TV is 2nd or 3rd generation - model number A1378.
AppleTV 2, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Google no longer supports YouTube on older (1st and 2nd generation) Apple TVs. It should, however, remain on the newer (3rd generation) model.
Try another Reset?

Tried another reset, more in hope, but still no joy. Looks like I'll need to purchase ATV3. Frustrating what happens when you move!
You have a 2nd gen. It has nothing to do with the move, the removal is due to Google stopping support on older ATV along with many other devices. If you have an IOS device running the latest app you can use airplay, or you can get the newer ATV
Thanks very much, just coincidental timing with the move, looks like I'll invest in the latest model.
