How do i delete my favourites or bookmarks in safari?

Open Safari and tap the bookmark icon. It will show your bookmarks and folders that you may have created. If you want to remove any sites tap Edit. Than tap the minus icon followed by Delete.

If you wish to remove favorites: on the same list you’ll see the Favorites option. Tap it and you’ll see a list of pages that are visible when you open a new tab. To remove them, tap Edit, tap minus, then Delete button

I Have tried this numerous times and there is no edit to taP when I open the bookmarks. There are only three choices, history, reading pages, and shared pages. I can find no way to do any editing or deleting. What could cause this?

Not helpful at all. My safari has not edit button when I click on favorites. Why does Apple make this so difficult (along with a ton of other things). I'm going to rile the masses here, but it is far easier to customize these sorts of things and to manage files and folders in Windows.

The Edit button is at the bottom left hand corner of the sidebar that opens when the bookmarks are visible.
