Q: After an Apple Remote Desktop update auto installed on my MacBook Air on May 20, 2015, the search bar and back arrows disappeared from my Safari browser. Any connection?
An Apple Remote Desktop update auto installed on my MacBook Air (latest Yosemite) on May 20th. Could this be the reason that my Safari browser no longer has a search bar or back arrow, even though the internet is still working? I can still get into websites shown on my History, but that's it.
MacBook Air (13-inch Late 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Doubtful?
More likely you inadvertently clicked something that altered the toolbar? Safari has a View Menu. Click on it and then select "Customize Toolbar" and the search bar back and forward arrows will be the first items listed. The other possibility is you selected "Hide Toolbar" instead. In which case select "Show Toolbar" and everything should return as before.
