safari skips google search when i press previous page button

Only noticed this just now. Ive been searching for some dj lights and googled it. Google page came up fine. I chose a page I wanted to look at. When I finished I pressed previous page tab to go back to search results but it skips this page and goes to the page I had prior to google. Thinking it might be temporary glitch I tried with several other searches and they all did the same. help!!!
