I have 2 users on my MAC OS x 10.6.8 will deleting one user help my computer if I don't need it anymore?

I;m still using the 1st Mac I purchased which was an OS X 10.6.8 desktop. First my son used it then I became the 2nd User on it. It has been years and my son has 3 additional Macs, Laptops. He no longer uses this MAC so I was wondering if and how it would be beneficial for me to delete him as a user. We do not sync anything together. We only share our WI-fi. Any help at all would be appreciated. I'm no technician (to say the least) so if you can keep it simple fine, if not that's alright also. Thank you for your help.😕
