I'm trying to update my Apple Watch Sport model. It has more than 50% battery, I'm on WiFi, and it's plugged in and charging. I've tried restarting my iPhone and Watch and nothing happens. My phone says Installing on Apple Watch but nothing happens on my Watch. Once I put the passcode in on both devices, my phone just continues to say Installing but it's really not.

I can't update Apple Watch Series 2 to watch OS 3.2.2.
I reset the watch after it stopped working today and it started tracking my activity after but trying to install update 5 times with multiple reboots didn't work.
Either watch is faulty or software is half baked.

I reset (deleted) my watch completely and activated it WITHOUT backup.
Then I could install the update.
After this I reset it again and this time I activated the watch WITH my backup.
It took me a complete morning but in the end it worked. I'm only curious, if this problem will reoccur with the next update … :/
I have tried restarting my watch my phone switching to airplane mode and forcing wifi. I have power cycled the watch and phone multiple times. And every time i launch the watch app the software update section continues to say software up to date. watchOS 2.2.2 which is obviously not true as watchOS 3 has been released. I have force quit the apps on my iphone and watch to no avail. Can anyone help with this?
I'm also very frustrated with these updates not going through.
I have tried restarting both phone and watch as suggested, re- synching Bluetooth and although my phone is on wifi and watch is on charger (&fully charged) I keep getting the message that my phone is not on wifi
I'd force close the Apple Watch app on your phone and try again.

I am having the same issue as well. I get this error every time. It goes through the entire sequence, at the last second of countdown I get this.

I got mine to work. My phone was NOT on wifi. It was on LTE. I power cycled both my phone and the watch, connected to wifi on my phone, and then retried the update. It still took about 20 mins but it worked. Hope this works for some of you. ***And by the way, shouldn't I have the choice to update over LTE if I prefer? Apple must have had to make that a deal with the wireless companies so that updates wouldn't overtax their system.
Finally got it to update by disconnecting from power and having it on my wrist.
You can download the update to your iPhone using LTE. But to move the update from your iPhone to your Watch you have to use WiFi as the Watch as not LTE radio.
