Servers EnterpriseOutlook is written by Microsoft. (Well duh!) Microsoft has a history of not playing friendly with other people/companies/products/standards, as such it has had feeble support for the industry standard VCard format used by most other software including Apple for exchanging contacts.
As an aside last time I tried importing contacts in to Outlook from Apple Addressbook I found that Outlook could not cope with a single VCard file containing multiple contacts. Fortunately there was a way to force Apple's Addressbook in to exporting as one VCard file per contact.
Anyway, getting back to your requirement of moving contacts from Outlook to Apple's Contacts application. I am first presuming that Outlook is not linked to an MS Exchange account, if it is using an MS Exchange account then the very simple solution is to setup Apple's Contacts application to link to the same Exchange account and it will then see all your contacts. If Outlook however is not using an Exchange account then one of the solutions listed on the following webpage should do the job for you.
