I would like the old iPhoto back, not photos

Like many of you, I am not happy about the organizational changes and the lack of being able to flip through photos now that iPhoto has changed on the Mac to Photos (to look more like Apple mobile devices).

If you also do not like this change, submit your feedback - make sure to choose your computer, not mobile device and be sure to mention that you prefer the old software of "iPhoto" vs. the new mac software of "photos".

Please help me get back out old iPhoto. Writing to Apple Feedback directly is the only way change happens there.

iPhoto was not deleted from your Mac. it was only removed from the Dock and will still work with 10.10.3 if it's iPhoto 9.6.1.

If you don't have that version but have another 9.x version try the instructions posted by Terence Devlin in this post to get iPhoto 9.6.1 from the App Store:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1

If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash

Install the App from the App Store.

Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always
