Moving Photos library "back to" MacIntosh HD from an EHD

My newer iMac has plenty of room for my Photo library, which now resides on an EHD with backups, as well as Time Machine.(I wear belts and suspenders). I would like to copy the Photos library back to the Pictures folder of my MacIntosh HD. How would I do this and target the Pictures folder? I intend to keep the library on the EHD as a backup.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10), iLife '11, iTunes 12, i Work 09

It will not "find its way" anyplace - it will be where you drag it to - the default (and best) location is in the pictures folder

and BTW

You have a grave misunderstanding - you have no belt and no suspenders - when the EHD fails everything is gone and you have no backup of any sort - the iPhoto library can not be on the same volume as its backup
