Google Chrome Helper Taking ~90% of CPU

I have just bought a Mid-2014 MacBook Pro 15 baseline, and when I am playing a video longer than 10 minutes, my MacBook turns into a mini jet engine. I searched the problem to be Google Chrome Helper, looked in activity monitor, and sure enough was taking 74% at the time of having a paused video. Battery life is also horrendous, taking one hour to go half way down. If anyone knows a way to stop this, and a fix for the fan noise and battery life, please respond. Adding to this, my Mac Mini desktop, baseline, does not do this, and my school laptop, 13 inch baseline MacBook Pro from 2015 does not do this either.

Thank you for your time, and have a great rest of your day!
