Can't import clips from new Photo 1.0 to iMovie 10.0.8

Question

I have movie clips that I shot on my camera and imported into the new Photos app on my Retina iMac running 10.10.3

I want to import those clips into iMovie 10.0.8

How do I do this?

I have tried dragging and dropping, choosing the "Import Media" option, and I cannot move them across.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

I have not used Photos myself but according to this article: Designate a System Photo Library in Photos - Apple Support

iMovie only has access to the Photos 'System library'.
