I don't have a recently deleted album, all of my pictures are there, I just don't have an album.

I have a 12G iPhone 6 and I'm running out of space on my phone. When I went to delete a ton of pictures, I still didn't have any space This was odd because I deleted over 2,000. I don't have a recently deleted album for some reason. ever since I got the phone, it didn't have one but it hasn't been an issue until now. Does anyone know how I can get the album so I can have more space on my phone? (it's about 6.2G of pictures and videos)
