I purchased a new laptop now no longer need old one with iTunes connection can I just deauthorize the old pc and not loose any information. can I sync to my ipad from the new laptop

Deauthorizing a computer does not cause loss of content. However, if you are worried about this, I might guess that you do not have your content backed up. Please make a backup on a medium such as an external hard drive before you do anything else.
