Q: Repeated syncing of photos on iPhone

I seem to have a problem with the photos app repeatedly trying to sync photos that are already stored in my iCloud photos library.  I uploaded my entire library when Yosemite updated and IOS 8.3 came along and all was fine until I noticed that if I viewed a photo on my iPhone that photo would then be offered for syncing again next time I connect my phone to iTunes on my MBP.   I have around 300 odd photos stuck like this.   They are already in my cloud library but they still want to sync.  There are delete from my device features without deleting the originals from the cloud library and all of my devices and so I am stuck with these additional pictures that want to be synced.

Can someone help?   Is it me or is this an issue for everyone presently?  I know this is a new app and there will inevitably be teething problems but this is really irritating.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3, when connected to my MBP Yosemite

Since you are using iCloud Photo library why are you also syncing using iTunes?

When I connect my iPhone to my MBP it automatically fires up iTunes and the Photos app.  Perhaps I described my issue incorrectly as what I mean is the Photos app displays these pictures asking to be synced again (when i select the iPhone on the left hand side of the frame (the sidebar view).  I appreciate i shouldn't need to do that now but old habits die hard.  If I looked at several photos on the iPhone would they all download to my iPhone and remain on there or do they automatically disappear at some time.  This doesn't seem to be the case at the moment.

If you have iCloud Photo library enable on all devices and are signed into iCloud on all of those devices using the same Apple ID then your Photos library is on iCloud and no syncing is needed - ever - all devices access iCloud for the photos and all changes made are immediately reflected on all devices

Thanks Larry I appreciate the principle behind the iCloud Photo library, it is a concept i like but that doesn't answer the fact that the app that Apple have provided is showing me that there are a bunch of photos that are not synced to my iCloud library but actually they are.  I don't really mind that it is confused but I do mind that I am not able to free up space on my iPhone and that is what this process is about.  The app is telling me there are photos on my phone that haven't gone up in the cloud yet or moved into my Photos library on my Mac.

YES! I have this same problem as well.  In Photos, I will sync a photo from my phone (it shows up under the device under 'new items'), the photo goes away, and then comes right back 5 seconds later as a 'new item' again.  In Photos, the same photo is repeated multiple times

Strangely, this seems to be happening with random pictures from YEARS ago, as  well as some that I took yesterday.
