First try resetting the iPad by holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears then let go & let the iPad boot up normally.

Clear safari's cache: Settings->Safari->Clear History & Website Data.

Try cleaning up your apps deleting ones you don't use anymore & making sure they are all up to date.

Clean up old messages & emails.

If you don't notice any improvement sometimes a general reset can help.

Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose any data but will have to customize certain settings again & log back into your wifi network(s)

If none of the above helps then backup your iPad & try restoring your iPad to factory settings through iTunes then setting up from a backup
