How to manually add pictures to My Photo Stream on OS X Yosemite?

Since upgrading to Yosemite and using Photos instead of iPhoto on my macbook, I haven't been able to figure out how to manually add pictures to My Photo Stream. With iPhoto I would simply right click on it and add it to My Photo Stream, but I don't have this option using Photos. The only workaround that I've found for this, it to send pictures to myself through iMessage or email and then save them to my iPhone. That's when they get added to My Photo Stream, but as soon as i do that, I end up with double of those same pictures on my Macbook. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Photos 1.0

There is no way to manually add pictures to PhotoStream. Is is an automatic function. Only new photos imported or added to a device from the camera will automatically go to PhotoStream. You can export photos, then reimport them, but as you said, they will be duplicated.

I'm not sure of your purpose in trying to add photos back to PhotoStream. What you might consider instead is to create a Shared Album where you can add all the photos you want, and will be available to all your devices as well as any other subscribers you wish to add.
