iTunes Match won't delete my songs from iCloud

I keep trying to delete my songs from iCloud, getting the "Are you sure you want to delete this song from iCloud?" prompt each time I press "Delete Song". And yet when I update iTunes Match the songs keep reappearing! None of these songs have been downloaded locally by the way.

This is so frustrating. The reason I am trying to do this too is to reset my iTunes Match account since I have many songs that blank iCloud Statuses, instead of the usual "Matched" "Purchased" or "Uploaded".
