Facebook notifications no longer working

Very recently my Facebook notifications no longer appear on the side bar of the notifications and i don't know why this is. My other internet accounts still work for example twitter , i am still able to see the calendar events on the calendar but Facebook messages just no longer appear.

In terms of what i've done to try and solve this

1) I've tried removing the Facebook account from the internet account section and re-adding it again

2) enabling and disabling the Facebook account

3) Re-installed OSx

4) changed notifications to banners to alerts and vice versa

I have tried signing in a different Facebook account and it works but just my Facebook account that doesn't work and i am currently using the latest Yosemite. So could someone please suggest any solutions for this. Thanks !
